Pellet Stoves: Eco Friendly and Convenient

24 Sep 2012

Pellet stoves are quickly becoming the stove of choice for home owners around the country. That is because they are safe, easy to use, and look great.  Many people in the world of fireplaces are not familiar with pellet stoves so let's review.

Pellet stoves use compressed wood pellets that are consistently fed into the main chamber to keep the fire burning and a more or less steady rate and temperature which you can safely and easily adjust. This highly efficient method if EPA approved for fuel efficient and heat production. Pellet stoves, like other wood burning stoves, offer a constant view of the fire making them ideal for home décor as well as home heating. A blower is included as well. Pellet stoves are even approved for mobile home use whilte wood burning stoves are not.

If you don’t want to deal with constantly having to supply wood to a wood burning stove or fire pit gas for a fire, a pellet stove could be a good move. Although you will need a steady supply of pellets they are small, easy to store, and highly efficient. A sizeable pellet stove can heat thousands of square feet, smaller ones heat anywhere from 500 – 1500 square ft.
