Description
WeatherBond Black Lap Sealant is a heavy bodied trowel or gun consistency material. It is primarily used to seal and point the exposed edges of the rubber membrane lap splice. The consistency enables it to expand and contract with membrane movement without loss of adhesion. Lap Sealants may be used to seal mechanical terminations, the cut edges of EPDM membranes and for sealing at splice intersections.Surface Preparation: All surfaces to be sealed with WeatherBond Black Lap Sealant must be dry and free from oil, grease, talc, dust and other foreign materials.
Application: Wait 2 hours before applying Lap Sealant to any cured-to-cured splice. Uncured-to-cured and uncured-to-uncured splices may be sealed immediately upon completion of the splice. Apply a 5/16'' bead along the exposed edge of the membrane. Lap Sealant must be applied and feathered on all seam edges by the end of the working day.
