Pleatco also offers D.E. (Diatomaceous Earth) filter grids which work by sifting the pool water through a series of grids. It has a filtering element which is the D.E. powder, in which case, if there are noticeable powder while running your filtering system in your pool then you may have a torn grid or multiple torn grids. You may need to replace it already.
