Unicel FG-1248 Replacement Vertical DE Grid for Purex 48 SqFt is part of the FG-1000 Vertical DE Grids: Full series of Unicel. This DE Grid uses DE or Diatomaceous Earth powder for filtering. This diatomaceous earth is a sedimentary rock composed of chemically inert and fossilized remains of billions of microscopic algae-like organisms, called diatoms which are so fine and has the ability to absorb or filter impurities of water down to 3 - 5 microns. This particular product is a replacement for Purex 48 Sq. Ft. and Pentair Pool Prod - Purex Replacements SM/SMBW 2048 and SM/SMBW 4048 (OEM 07-4924). It has a length of 25-3/8 inches and a width of 10-3/4 inches. Its collar has a single notch and is covered with a black adapter.
